ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrive Brisbane - Hervey Bay
On arrival into Brisbane collect your rental car and make your way into the city. Depart Brisbane and head north up through the Sunshine Coast. You’ll travel passed the Glass House Mountains, Beerwah, home to Australian Zoo and Eumundi. It’s easily divert into Caloundra or Noosa for a lunch stop by the beach. Once you arrival into Hervey Bay check into your accommodation and relax.
Day 2: Hervey Bay
Today is at leisure; whether you opt to relax around time and explore the local markets, jump on a Jetski and sample the local produce at the many cafes and restaurants around town. Why not consider heading over to the infamous Lady Elliot Island for a day? Just a scenic 40 minute flight from Hervey bay airport you can spend the day swimming with turtles and reef sharks, join a glass bottom boat tour, go diving or head out for a drift snorkel where you might get the chance to swim with the mantra rays.
Day 3: Hervey Bay to K'gari
One of the largest Sand Island’s K’Gari is a must do when visiting the region. Make your way to River Heads and check in for your ferry over to K'gari! It’s easy to slip straight into island time from the moment you check into Kingfisher Bay Resort, the whole resort’s footprint is cocooned between native bushland and coastal surrounds. With three onsite restaurants, there’s no shortage of places to eat at Kingfisher Bay Resort.
Experience ILLUMINA K'GARI - tonight you have tickets to Illumina's Return to Sky light show where you will see the island come to life through vibrant hues and intricate patterns that dance across the night sky and natural canopy.
Day 4: K'gari Island
There's a reason K'gari is regarded as Australia's number one whale-watching destination! The humpbacks aren't just passing by each July through October - they're taking time out in the calm, sheltered waters off our western bay to socialise, have some fun, learn some essential life skills and nurture their young.
The humpbacks' natural curiosity takes over. they glide up to the boats and in return, put on an almighty show - slapping their tails, waving their pec fins and breaching into the air, for a truly larger-than-life spectacle.
The Hervey Bay Whale Watch team aboard Quick Cat II provide an unforgettable day out on the World Heritage-listed waters, joining in on the excitement as you witness these oceanic giants up close.
Day 5: K'gari Island
Today you will explore the island with an expert Ranger on the Beauty Spots Tour. On this full day of adventure seeing all of the iconic K'gari sights, you’ll meet like-minded travellers, visit the top natural attractions and cool off in watering holes – all from the air-conditioned comfort of our custom-designed, four-wheel-drive coaches. The tour includes lunch and refreshments, so all you need to pack is your sunscreen, swimwear, and sense of adventure!

Day 7: Hervey Bay to Brisbane
Your last day in the Fraser Coast region, your holiday has come to an end. Check out of your accommodation and drive back to Brisbane Airport to drop your rental car before boarding your flight home.
