Meet the team

I just love travel but most of all, I love to share my knowledge of travel. My expertise would be South America and Europe where I worked as a tour director - visiting the same European cities time and time again.

Having a love of travel, I completed a Bachelor of International Tourism Management in 2013. After a 6 month stint working at Walt Disney World in Florida I returned to NZ and started my career in the travel industry.

I have been in and out of the industry since the 80's I have lived in Australia, Canada, Italy and of course NZ. I have travelled to some great places but there is still a huge number of countries on my wish list.

My favourite thing about this job being able to explore and research lots of cool destinations daily and creating some cool itineraries is really exciting. I love hearing all about the trip and my client’s experiences when they get home but it’s certainly making my book-it “list” turn into a novel.

Travel has always been a joy for me, I love exploring new places, trying new foods, meeting interesting people and stepping outside of my own bubble.

I love creating memorable experiences and take pride in what I do. My love for travel started when I was a child as I was lucky enough to travel to Europe on a regular basis due to having European parents.

After completing studies based in the Hotel industry, I departed our fair shores to see the world and worked in Europe as a Nanny in Scotland, Chef in Greece, Barmaid in London, Hotel receptionist in London, Farmhand in Scottish Highlands, and Tour guide all over Europe.

While I'm now in a part-time support role for our incredible team of Travel Specialists, I have been part of the Calder & Lawson family since 2011. I've worked across all areas of the business, including as a Travel Specialist from 2018-2021.

Our travel stories

Camino de Santiago

There is one other passenger remaining in the arrivals lounge. Pierre is a quintessential Swiss man, polite, charming and like me, missing his luggage. We are both planning on starting the Camino de Santiago in the morning, the pilgrimage over the Pyrenees into Spain and across the country to Santiago de Compostela. There are multiple Camino routes leading to Santiago but the one we are about to begin is the Camino Frances, also called the French Way, which is 780km with an optional 90km to Finisterre on the coast where you plunge into the ocean to cleanse your soul.

Postcard from Europe

I spent 5 years in Europe working as a Tour Leader for various companies.

Postcard from Sub Antarctic

In January 2024 I embarked on a 14-night expedition cruise aboard Ponant's La Soleal in the Southern Ocean. Departing from Dunedin, New Zealand, our itinerary included The Snares, Enderby Island, Macquarie Island, Campbell Island, and Antipodes.

Postcard from Latin America

I was sent to Latin America for work to do a quality control, product development and ad-hoc tour leading.

Postcard from Puerto Rico

It's times like these I was so thankful to be visiting a foreign country with friends and just rolling with the punches because now it makes a great story about the time we got lost in the forest!

Postcard from Key Largo

A few of us who were in the Disney College Program and working at the same place in the parks decided to travel down to the Florida Keys
